Daryn Kagan / Host & Producer

Daryn Kagan is the creator and host of DarynKagan.com, an inspirational online community that features a daily Web cast of stories that, "Show the World What is Possible."  Based on the radical idea that the world is a good place, DarynKagan.com has become a daily destination for thousands of Internet users who seek news stories that inspire.  Launched in November 2006, the Atlanta Journal Constitution described DarynKagan.com as "a lively gathering spot," while the Boston Globe noted DarynKagan.com is "bucking the media tide," with its "emphasis on stories that illustrate the triumph of the human spirit." 


Before heading into cyberspace, Daryn anchored both news and sports for CNN.  Described by the Los Angeles Times as a "CNN mainstay," Daryn traveled the world during her 12-year tenure at CNN, and reported live on-site during numerous global events, including the war in Iraq from Kuwait.   Daryn also reported from Africa during a 10-day tour with rock band U2's Bono and U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, and provided the CNN News networks with in-depth reports on AIDS and famine.  Her reports were featured on CNN.com, along with a daily blog that chronicled her reports, experiences, and travels in Africa.  Additionally, Daryn reported from across the U.S. to cover numerous Presidential elections, the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy, and the hunt for the Washington, D.C. sniper. 


Daryn was on the air live during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.  She reported throughout that day and covered the unfolding event from CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta, as well as from the network's Washington, D.C., bureau, as the crisis turned into a search-and-rescue mission that evolved into a war on terrorism.  Before joining the news team on CNN, Daryn served as a news anchor and reporter for CNN/Sports Illustrated, the 24-hour sports news network from CNN and Sports Illustrated, covering such major events as the Super Bowl, the NBA playoffs and international figure skating



Brian Kosisky / Executive Producer / Director

For over 15 years Brian Kosisky has been using his creative talents to produce stories with depth and emotion.  His stellar career spans from producing commercials for national and regional advertisers, to editing and supervising post-production for national cable and broadcast television programs.  The networks include: HGTV, DIY, The Travel Channel, The Speed Channel and PBS. 


Before creating Kos Films, Brian was a Senior Producer for CNN; producing, shooting and editing feature stories and special projects.  No other company combines the art of storytelling with visual images as inspired as Brian does.  His talent allows him to function as producer, director and editor; carefully sculpting stories into pieces of art. 


Joy Kosisky / Producer

Joy is the lead producer on all Kos Films productions.  With over 12 years of broadcasting experience, Joy brings a creative eye to all projects.  In addition to producing and scoring for Kos Films, Joy continues her role as a fulltime Director/TD at CNN. She has provided coverage of the attacks of 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and the crisis in the Middle East. Her long list of awards includes a National Emmy, Peabody and Dupont Award.


Mahadev Rao / HD Cinematographer

As the main video photographer for CNN's New Dehli, India bureau, Rao's images have been seen in millions of living rooms across the world. His photography has brought a human face to the tragedies of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, the train bombings in Mumbai and the ongoing conflict in Kashmir. Rao's unique talents allow him to capture the raw emotion behind EVERY image and every story.


Jean Shifrin / Photojournalist

In her 27-year career as a photojournalist, Jean has photographed subjects ranging from a gospel group traveling through the rural South to the changing face of Christianity in Europe . She has documented tornado damage from a helicopter and the lives of Muslim women in the Middle East . In her 14 years as a staff photographer at the Atlanta Constitution, Jean photographed countless celebrities, including Woody Allen, Morgan Freeman, Usher, Maya Angelou and Hugh Grant. But throughout her career, it has been documenting the lives of children, and capturing the priceless moments they create, that she has enjoyed the most.

Consistently over the years, Jean has received national recognition for her documentary photography. Her photograph of children playing in the fountain at Centennial Olympic Park was selected for the cover of the Georgia 24/7 coffee table book. The depth and professionalism of her photojournalistic work has been recognized with an Overseas Press Club Award, the Society for Professional Journalists Award, the Clarion Award and the Nikon Documentary Sabbatical Grant. Jean has been a judge for the prestigious Pictures of the Year Contest and a faculty member at the University of Missouri .
